2 Day Verde River Rafting
Duration: 2 days
Departs from: Camp Verde, Arizona
Experience rafting like never before as you embark on this Whitewater Rafting Tour and you will see Arizona's only federally designated sight seeing river. The Verde River drops 20 feet every mile and carves a canyon of filled with color: gold, reds, and browns. Paddle on an inflatable kayak or just sit back and relax in a raft as you are surrounded by nature's beauty. Cottonwoods, Sage, Sycamores, and sandy beaches can be spotted all over the canyon. Wildlife commonly seen include: black bears, golden eagles, otters, deer, javelinas, great blue herons, and a variety of birds.
Because the Verde River is well-channeled, we are able to run kayak trips all year long. The steady 150-200 cubic feet per second of water flow translates into class II and class III rapids. This is a lot of fun! These one person boats and kayaks do not require any experience but you will be under the watchful eye of your guide as you make your way down this adventurous river. During the wet months, February and March, it is probable that we will experience high-water conditions at which we will have to use our 14 foot self-bailing rafts. However, the water flow is difficult to catch and is unreliable, this makes riding the inflatable kayak an ideal way to explore this magical river.
