Salt River Rafting Day Trip

Duration: 5.5 hours
Departs from: Just past Globe, Arizona

Paddle through Arizona's brilliant, 2000-foot deep rock canyons and take on famous rapids such as the "Overboard", "Maytag", "Mescal Falls", and "Wall Slammer." The river carves this beautiful canyon as it drops just over 20 feet per mile. The scenery and entertaining whitewater of the Upper Sonoran Desert makes this a very attractive place for friends and family. Indulge yourself into this utlimate experience as we takes care of you, providing a delicious grilled lunch on all one day trips.

First, meet at base camp at your designated time. Complete check in, load camp bags and get dressed for the river. (We recommend wetsuit and wetsuit boots for March to Mid-April trips, otherwise just wetsuit boots.) Next, receive safety orientation and boating instruction, then hit the river for the seven crazyest rapids of your life including the intimidating ''Overboard Rapid''. Stop for lunch at ''Second Camp'' and enjoy a hot grilled lunch prepared by our staff. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic beauty! After lunch, hold on and paddle hard as you hit four more breathtaking rapids such as ''Cibecue''' - hang on! Upon reaching the take out at ''Hoodoo, '' we will have descended down 200 feet. We will stop for a short hike up Cibecue Canyon to view majestic waterfalls, if time allows.

The guides instruct you before the trip on what to do in the small chance (more likely on higher adventure trips and inflatable kayak trips) you take a ''swim'' in the river.

What to Wear

Swimsuit/Nylon shorts, Shoes that can get wet or secure sandals with heel straps, Wetsuits for spring trips, Wetsuit boots all seasons. We also recommend you bring a waterproof camera, eye glass straps, water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm and a sun hat, along with your sense of adventure!
