Many who hike the Grand Canyon are looking for the picturesque views that the Canyon has to offer. If you fit into this category, the South Kaibab to Cedar Ridge tour is the one for you.
The history of this trail is as impressive as the views it offers. As touring the Grand Canyon became more popular, a senator who owned mining rights in the Canyon charged tourists to use his trails. The Park decided to make a trail of its own. Dynamite blasted through the rock of South Kaibab, which is the trail still used today.
The tour is three miles round trip, ranks at a 5 on a scale of 1-10 and is led by experienced tour guides. Be sure to wear comfortable tennis shoes or hiking boots.
