In New River, Arizona we offer a fantastic adventurous tour. The Tomcar Three Mine Tour gives you and your group the unique opportunity to explore the Sonoran Desert behind the wheel of a once military special operations unit vehicle. It's an incredibly comfortable automatic transmission ride that tackles some of the roughest terrain with ease. Enjoy the thrill of crossing rivers, difficult desert landscape, ascents, descents, and more across this enchanting land. There is fascinating plant life and unusual wild animal life here that you will be given the unique opportunity to learn about.
Come back to the 1800's with us when the Bradshaw Mountains had a larger population than the entire city of Phoenix. We'll meet here and then set off for the infamous turquoise mine. We'll give a brief instructional class about proper off road driving techniques. Once you've learned the skill of safe and environmentally appropriate off road driving we're off! When we reach the mine you'll get to spend at least twenty minutes picking up turquoise. These majestic pieces are a favorite of many tourists and they are great keepsakes as well. Good physical health recommended. Shouldn't participate if pregnant or recently out of surgery.
What to Wear
Comfortable clothes. Please dress for the weather. We recommend hats, sunglasses, closed toed shoes, long pants, sun block and a camera.
Tour Notes
- Drivers must be 18 and have a valid driver's license, passengers under 18 need to have a waiver signed by a guardian
- Deposit of $1,000 to be held on credit card for damage deductible
- Group maximum is 20 people
- There is some optional, very light hiking/climbing and you will get dusty
