Firearms Instruction Short Course

At Explore Arizona Tours we offer the Firearms Instruction Experience. You'll meet your Instructor at the RoadRunner Restaurant & Saloon in New River and be transported to a beautiful desert firing range. Thie comprehensive basic and intermediate rifle/pistol training is a 1.5 hour course specially designed for you. The first part of this great experience is approximately 30 minutes where you will receive instruction on basic operational skills of each firearm. Also taught are Safety, dry fire exercises, range rules, protocols of fire, and much more.
The next segment of this tour is the live fire exercises. Lasting approximately 1 hour, during this portion of the experience you get to fire thirty, 9mm rounds of the Glock 17 handgun and thirty, .223 rounds with the M4 A3. Firing these remarkable weapons is a rush for all guests and when you go with us you'll receive so much more than simple target practice. We give you a comprehensive operating course covering everything you need to know about how to safely and proficiently operate a firearm. Come enjoy the instruction and live fire exercises with us, it's a fun and exciting activity for all. You'll get the unique opportunity of experiencing the sensation of shooting in a safe setting that mimics real life scenarios. On our Firearms Instructions Experience you'll be privileged to acquire the basic skills of gun handling and marksmanship. After having done so, you'll appreciate the importance of gun safety and its many benefits.
Details
- Meet your instructor and begin with a safety overview
- Become familiar with a variety of different types of firearms, including a semi-automatic M16 and a Glock 9mm handgun
- Learn proper techniques, safety instructions, and firing etiquette from an NRA certified instructor
- Practice what you've learned with a series of live fire exercises
- Includes use of gun, all safety equipment, and ammunition
Physical Activity Level
Participants should be in generally good physical health and possess the upper body strength required to operate a 10 pound rifle
Recommendations
Minimum age is 14 years old; participants must sign waiver (by parent/guardian for those under 18); all participation in this experience is subject to instructor approval
What to Wear
Participants must wear and bring a hat and eye protection; ear protection is provided

- Our intructors are NRA Certified. We also have Range Safety Officers present at all our courses/tours
- We utilize paper and steel reactive targets
