Exclusive Private Tour
Duration: 4 Hours
Departs from: Your Valley area hotel or resort.
Come raft the river and see a whole new side of the Sonoran Desert!
Description
Wanna get away and see a side of the desert few get to appreciate? Desert Voyagers Guided Raft Tours provides half day guided float tours on the Lower Salt River in the Tonto National Forest.
Our tours are leisurely scenic float tours, focusing on the beauty and wildlife surrounding the unique riparian preserve along the river.
Choose to float in either our traditional inflatable rafts or our Funyaks, which are two-person inflatable kayaks great for the beginner and the advanced paddler!
Both tours are guided by professional, fun-loving guides.
Your guide will point out bald eagles and wild mustangs and you can keep your eyes on the banks to try to see our ellusive river otters!
Ice cold bottled water and all river equipment will be provided and we run our tours year round with up to two departures per day.
Wanna take a dip in the refreshingly cool waters of the desert? Just ask your guide where to jump in and then float along in the water, which stays around 70 degrees year round!
Bring the family, the clients, your co-workers or just your friends to enjoy a cool float on the Lower Salt River!
EXCLUSIVE PRIVATE TOURS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Round trip transportation to and from your Valley area hotel or resort, a fruit and cheese platter, towels for your convenience, a Desert Voyagers gift to keep as a souvenir, and the guarantee that you entire tour will be completely private, just you, your group and your guide.

Type of Trans
We will pick you up at your Valley area hotel or resort at either 8:00am or 12:00pm (depending on season) and return you after your tour 4 hours later. Desert Voyagers guides drive a large white van that says Desert Voyagers on the side and will greet you on time at the main entrance to your hotel.
Physical Activity Level
Mild
What to Wear
Our permit requires that you wear shoes at all times while on the river, so we suggest shoes that will not easily pop off your feet and float away. This might include old tennis shoes that can get wet, water shoes, or sandals with some sort of ankle strap.
We suggest that you wear whatever clothing you will be most comfortable in based on the expected weather conditions. In the summer it gets very hot and a t-shirt and shorts or a swim suit are excellent choices.
In all other seasons, it generally never gets below 65 degrees when we are on the river so dress accordingly and always remember sunscreen and a hat, no matter the season!
