White Mountains Arizona

The White Mountains in western Arizona is a recreational haven. The communities include Snowflake, Sunrise Ski Park, Pinetop-Lakeside, and others. Visitors to the White Mountains will find themselves surrounded by endless opportunities for adventure. There are possibilities for day and weekend trips consisting of hiking, skiing, fishing, mountain biking, making the White Mountains desirable visit for every member of the family.

The historic community of Snowflake has much to offer. Premiere walking tours of pioneer homes and other historical buildings can consume an entire day. There is also an abundance of hiking trails surrounding Snowflake, with an opportunity to see the scenic canyons filled with ancient petroglyphs. To the north of Snowflake lies one of the nation's most unique national parks, the Petrified Forest National Park. Native American ruin tours can be found in the Painted Desert, as well as at the park's museum. Snowflake is also home to the world's newest Latter-day Saints temple, while not available to the public for tours, is still a site for the eyes.

Arizona Fishing and Fly Fishing

Pinetop-Lakeside Arizona offers a fantastic array of outdoor activities, consisting of fishing, fly fishing, hiking trails filled with wildlife, guided horse rides, and rafting expeditions. Pinetop lodging offers cabins and bed and breakfasts that can make for an enjoyable winter get away, or a romantic hideaway in the spring and summer months. Jeep tours are offered for the Fort Apache area as wall as rafting tours down the Salt River. Guided tours of the Kinishba ruins are also offered on the Apache Indian Reservation.

Sunrise Park Ski Resort not only offers great winter adventures such as ski and snowmobile trips, but the summer months also home to exciting horseback riding and lift rides over the Snowbowl. The Sunrise Park Lodge is a perfect place to spend a holiday weekend, allowing for the opportunity to enjoy the towns many festivals. Monument Valley is located in Sunrise, offering plenty of guided tours, by either Jeep and off-road vehicles, and as well hiking and horseback tours. Air tours are also offered for premiere "flightseeing" over the valley.

White Mountain Adventures

The White Mountains offer many ways to rest and relax, but also provide a scenic outdoor adventure playground. Year round there are possibilities to tour the historical and breath taking areas of western Arizona, whether it be for a week, weekend, or just a day trip.
